The Center for Experimental Nuclear Physics and Astrophysics (CENPA) is the new name for the organization developed from the Nuclear Physics
Laboratory at the University of Washington.
CENPA supports a broad program of
experimental physics research. We do basic research here using our in-house
accelerators, and we have a strong program in precision experimental studies of gravity.
A major portion of our effort is involved with experiments done elsewhere using
equipment we develop here.
Our program in neutrino research
includes a large effort at the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory in Canada, participation
in the KATRIN tritium beta decay experiment, and work in development of experiments
to search for neutrinoless double beta decay.
We also perform user-mode research at large
accelerator and reactor facilities around the world.
Reading our current
Annual Report will provide a detailed overview of our most recent activities.
