The LIGO collaboration has announced the first-ever detection of gravitational waves

The LIGO collaboration has announced the first-ever detection of gravitational waves from a merger of two black holes, a billion light years away. CENPA physicists Krishna Venkateswara, Rich Ottens and Jens Gundlach are part of this collaboration.
