Informing the PIONEER detector design through simulation efforts

Abstract:

The PIONEER experiment is currently in a stage of prototypes and funding proposals. The simulation is used to bridge between prototypes to prospective performance of the full apparatus and thus provides crucial arguments for the proposals. I will summarise the current status of the simulation framework and highlight a few of my recent efforts that include very rare pion decays as well as some performance estimates for a segmented LYSO calorimeter.
