I will introduce the latest progress of DAMIC-M experiment at the Modane Underground Laboratory. As the highlight, I will report on a recent search for sub-GeV dark matter (DM) particles interacting with electrons using the DAMIC-M prototype detector. The data feature a significantly lower detector single e− rate (factor 50) compared to our previous search, while also accumulating a ten times larger exposure of ∼1.3 kg-day. With the data the bench mark models of hidden sector dark matter are probe over a wide range for the first time .
