The COHERENT experiment at Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Spallation Neutron Source has made world-first measurements of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS) on three different nuclear targets, as well as probing inelastic interactions. In this talk, I’ll give an overview of what COHERENT has done and what it’s planning to do, with an emphasis on understanding the neutron backgrounds and neutrino flux associated with this source.
